Toyo Tsuchiya photographed the Lower East Side of the 1980s from inside it. An artist of the Neoist, anti-art moment and a co-founder of the No Se No social club and the Rivington School, he left an archive of thousands of silver gelatin prints recording a scene he was also part of.
The work was bringing that archive to light: organising it so that institutions could consider acquiring it, and building a website to hold it. A living artist's site argues for what comes next. An estate's does something else. It lays out the range of a finished body of work so curators and galleries can take it in whole, and the structure was built for that overview.

The connection came through Tobe Tsuchiya, Toyo's son.
